I would disagree. To be 100% certain AI is or isn’t conscious seems to be a fundamental misunderstanding to me. And that’s because of what is arguably the greatest unsolved question in philosophy: the hard problem of consciousness. Until we understand how non material consciousness arises from material objects (aka the brain), then id say the most reasonable position to take towards if consciousness can arise in AI is agnosticism and a humility to accept that we don’t really understand consciousness (particularly how it arises) in the first place.
