@kingol4801  @kingOL  not my view point, just a description of the current human understanding of sentience and consistent logical consequence defined by the current society. I don't care what can or cannot be defined as sentience, just it can't be self contradictory. the current English word sentience is highly biased towards being only used to refer to humans, thus it would discriminate against non-biological sentience. But then again, we can't know non-biological sentience since we can ever only know our own brains and mind worlds. You can't ever actually describe or truly know the sentience of a being which you are not, so I'd that is your viewpoint, it's unprovable, until the universe follows a new laws of dimensionality, physics, and extensions/boundaries of identity/individuality. If you want to invent a world where non-biological beings are seen as sentience or redefine part of the English language, let me know how it goes. Also, AI is entirely human made, what other human made things have we called sentient? Can you truly ever say your thoughts are sentient without you? What are they able to do? Even if they were able to do everything you are able to do, it would still be an extension of your own sentience, never will they be apart from you as the creator and be independent. Unlike yourself, you don't really attribute your thoughts as originated from another, unless you do, and believe that all events are caused by another event and the world is entirely mapable mathematically, then ye, you would not be defined as sentient either.
