Exactly. AI "artists" act like AI is just their tool but it's not. If you took away my pen, I'd draw with a pencil. If you took away all of the usual tools, I'd pick up a stick and draw in the sand, I'd make images by ordering stones on the ground etc. Those are tools and I'm an artist. I make art with whatever tool I want.
Taking away the AI from an AI "artist" is not removing just a tool, it's like removing their whole body and leaving just a thinking head. It can't draw, only come up with prompts.
