@reubenoakley5887 It baffles me how there can exist humans who don't understand that art is the expression of human experience. Humanity has this innate desire to scream out into the world: "I'm here! I exist!". All of us are born with the genetic makeup to express our every experience and tell the stories in our heads, and the ever present need to do so. This is why we speak, why we want to share things with eachother, why we want to be understood and why we want what happens inside our heads to be reflected, somehow, in the world. Art is the desperate and fleeting attempt at sating this primal desire. Every stroke a person makes with their brush, every tiny adjustment a person makes with their camera, every careful or carefree wording of a poem, every key pressed down on a piano tells a thousand stories about that person. Art is the celebration of human existence. It's the understanding that all we have is eachother, and we have eachother always. No matter how dark the night may be, you will always know that you are not alone, because of the countless voices screaming out around you that they're there. Screaming out everything they are, whether joyful and laughing or grieving and crying. Beauty is nothing more than the choice you make every time you hear a song or lay your eyes on a sunset. The choice you make that, yes, everything is alright, because look at how the sunrays hit the leaves, and make them shine so vibrantly against the bark. Beauty is nothing more than the joy you feel at getting at a joke, because the joke is a puzzle left for you by someone who knew you'd have fun solving it, because they did. Art is not beautiful because it's beautiful, art is beautiful because it means something, because you trust that it means something. Because you can look at it and see the person who made it, and because you can see yourself in it, and you can see yourself in them. Because you are both alive, because you are both the same, and because somehow you have eachother, if only in this fleeting understanding. AI image generation is riding on having its consumers associate the content it creates with human meaning that comes from the art it's copying. When this meaning fades away, as the content only becomes associated with the generated images, those generated images will be nothing images, devoid of all meaning and beauty. Not because the quality changed, but because the meaninig disappeared.
