IMO the idea that it is being used for one, and not the other, needs a citation. AI development is not a monolith, worked on by some singular, equally monolithic group that plods along from one application to another in a linear fashion. It's a bunch of groups working on the tech for many purposes. Those not being super prominent doesn't mean they don't exist.
