@selsoftie "trained by using other artist’s works and meshing it into one" That tells me you don't understand how training works, or what it achieves. There's also a few models these days that have trained off datasets curated for a higher standard of consent, but I would argue it's not an issue, because most training images came from sites with ToS that allowed the collection of such data anyway. Image generating AIs are trained through processes like Image Diffusion, not by copying the images then compressing or storing them. The images are shown to the AI, after having progressively more and more noise added to them, until nothing is left but static, then shown that process in reverse. The AI merely learns about patterns as they degrade to noise, and learns to reverse that process from random noise, to create new images. If models stored actual information about every image they were trained on, we wouldn't be able to store them on a single PC.
