@bruhassass Because that's how copyright works in all other cases, also how copyright was used together with AI before the LLM we have today.
It's just an activist take that AI art should be held in a different standard than any other medium. And in the case of the officer that denied copyright in his case pure incompetence and I hope it gets overturned.
Take a picture with a camera and you automatically have copyright, press a button in photoshop also gives you copyright, but spend hours writing maybe thousands of words to generate an image with AI is not?
There are a lot of art forms that I dislike, AI art is one of them, but I wouldn't claim that any of them wouldn't have the rights to their work.
