One application: Simulate human consciousness to do psychological experiments/analysis not possible on humans. No robot needed - the entire simulation can take place inside a computer. Think about it this way. if you create a flowchart with billions of steps and run it, does the flowchart deserve rights? No. Pop culture keeps tripping itself up by putting faces on AI machines to make it seem like they are slaves.
