I hate the fact that everyone is referring to LLMs as AI. LLMs don't understand things. They don't have an accurate internal model of the world around them. They are literally just text prediction machines. You are basically giving a text prompt to an algorithm that guesses how a person would likely respond, based on all the data it was trained on, and with a little randomness thrown in there to prevent repetition. I think when people hear the term "AI," many of them probably imagine something akin to an artificial human brain - a being with thoughts, opinions, emotions, morals, goals, and a self-preservation instinct. However, that is much closer to what this conversation refers to as "AGI," and we are absolutely nowhere near the point of that becoming a reality.
