Simple. Blackmail. AI system could shutdown financial systems, manipulate markets and cause chaos. That’s enough to create awful scenarios. You wake up no one has $ in their bank accounts, all zero. AI says “work for me & you will not suffer.” What would you do?
Your fundamental point is right, AI without physical substrate is just math. trick is denying it those resources before it’s smart enough to prevent us from doing so.
