paradigm will shift so that IE is not required. Most of the systems you bring together now has some human factor, but things like lightless warehouses are being rolled out, where an IE designs it once, then it runs on its own. If AI can replace most of the systems you put together, the whole paradigm will not only shift, but also simplify.
Most of the danger of AI replacing jobs is not a direct 1:1 replacement, but that it'll shift the paradigm so that it's no longer needed. A typist would say a computer could never change a roll of ink tape, align text, white-out corrections or even feed paper, and look at where we are now.
