same as any skill that gets devalued by automation. i know a few truck drivers who are very proud to be good drivers, they live for cars. but their jobs will be replaced, there is no way around it. any skill a human learns now will be obsolete in a few decades. you could have said, learning any skill is pretentious. people learn languages still, some people love cross knitting, or do sports. none of that is useful to society. but when someone is able to do a backflip, do you not think thats cool? i think people that want to draw or can draw, are cool. unfortunatly for them, their jobs are obsolete.
