Yet we do have some rather obvious writing on the wall about what AI most certainly WILL bring about:
1. The End of Human Labor to feed, clothe, house and have healthcare for human beings.
2. The End of Human Disease and Birth Defects. Along the path we will "solve" human biology, understand the genome 100%.
3. Solve death either mostly or completely. We already know of an organism that can live virtually forever. Breakthroughs in Yamanaka Factors among others will make this a reality for any 20 something if not many older persons in all likelihood.
3. Perfect quantum computing and yield AI running on it. This itself will be equivalent to catapulting humanity 100 years into the future overnight. It very well may make sentient AI a certainty, assuming we can't do that on just traditional silicon at some point.
