@chrisporter9397 You didn't double check your examples didn't you? None of them actually agrees with you. The Hardy Boys - Author Nancy Drew - Author Alex Cross - He confessed that he was more of author/publisher than writer for his usage of ghostwriters. Ghostbumps? Do you mean Goosebumps? If so same thing author. Noticing the pattern here? It's either author or publisher ghostwriters are often under alias. Reason is quite simple authors/publishers owns the rights of the works, basically copyright owner of it but they still have to credit the actual novelist/writer. However novelists/writers can't use ghostwriter because they are basically the writers themselfs. It's like plumber goes for plumbing job and here he hires another plumber just because he doesn't want to his job. Doesn't really make sense so it's better to be an author in that way you are owning the rights but not always writing. As for your AI comment believe me in this one experienced IT workers hate it. Only ones I've seen loving it are either inexperienced ones or have no fucking idea how computers actually works and blindly trust it. Yeah and those who works in AI developement, really wants some regulations in AI.
