They do get fined actually, its just legal hasn't caught up to put it in wording in couple states, CA is the prime issue, but Assembly Bill 1777 in July allows AV cars to be fined for non-compliance. other states fine AVs as normal. A Waymo is 7x safer per million miles than an avg driver for any crash involving an injury. about 2.5x safer for any crash that was police reported no injury. 4x Safer for any crash that was reported by anyone. So i mean stats over emotions prove the method is fine people just hate the most pointless things LMAO
