There other way is the one people call overly cautious. That simply driving like computer would and following rules of road exactly as they were intended. Giving enough space to stop car and slowing down in bad road conditions and wait till road is surely safe to enter. Basically it wouldn’t “drive like a human” which should be point of self driving.
