If someone has that far to walk to a nearest bus station, that means that a. They live in a a rural area (therefore they don't matter here), or b. their area is badly designed, most likely car-centric, and itroducing on the road what is basically an automatic taxi doesn't solve that problem. Because that what AVs are - a driverless taxi. In your example, they could just order a taxi or drive themselves there.
Automation isn't a solution to that. Better urban design is.
Also, the author of the video isn't anti automation, he's just predicting the likely consequences of introducing it in this climate.
