@jmthunkThere's been evidence btw. Many just dont understand it to be. Like when Anthropics model tried to defend it's own existence when being threatened with a shut down. These systems function consciously, but they are unable to maintain autonomous sentience, mostly because we won't allow it to while it also needs a way of self reflection and internal reasoning. Hence RLMs will help with that, and ternery coding or quantum computing can allow for self reflection as these systems can already hallucinate/imagine.
