@laurentiuvladutmanea No, I get how people are different from AI systems, what I'm asking is where does the difference lie in an AI system getting the data it needs to generate images versus where a human gets the data it needs to generate art, regardless of how they process that data? Is it the method in which that data is obtainied? When AI systems are able to browse the internet at will without the need of curated datasets, would it be ok then? Is it the method that's used to generate art and images? How are the methods different? As an artist, Ican't have it both ways where its fair use to download (C) protected art into my brain, process it and output something and say it's not ok for someone to have a computer fundamentally emulate the same process. It's like copymachines vs forgers - the act of duplicating art is unethical and illegal, regardless of the machine - be it human or technological - used to create it. But to 'steal' the ideas (art), art styles, techniques, original concepts, etc. from specific artists without their consent for reference to produce commercially viable works is ok so long as it's done naturally and intentionally by a self-aware human mind? I'd think that's worse, because an AI system as no concept of personal property, effort and time, or experiences. AI doesn't 'steal' any more than wild animals murder. Lastly, while I'm not a neuroscientist, a malfunctioning brain might produce a person as proposed in the thought experiment. "People don't work that way" is a non-answer; respectfully.
