The issue with this take is that it is entirely focused on the consumption of art. The issue isn’t just that AI doesn’t make work look like its own, but that in all respects AI is infringing on the copyright of individual artists. This is in all fields of art. Part of art is the creation of it not just the final product. Film nerds like to watch interviews from directors. Sometimes voice actors pull pain from the depth of their soul to voice a dialogue that they can’t watch without thinking of that pain again after. Art isn’t just a product, it’s a creation and handing it to AI devalues not only the creative process, but will make it harder for artists using their own skills to create to be heard in the endless noise that is AI art posts if we let it
