It's not about the "malicious code", it's about teaching it, feeding it with knowledge, concepts, ect - no coding.
I'm in AI area for last over 25y. 10y ago, my daughter wrote her first neural network when she was 12yo - it's that simple 😉 the rest is about code optimisation (to run it faster and more efficiently) and scaling up.
There are 3 basic concepts in neural networks, known for at least 50y: NN, RNN, SNN, and the rest is just optimisation around them and scaling up. Only for last 10-15y we have hardware capabilities to run large models.
So, it's not about "evil developer" putting some dangerous code, it's about evil person teaching it wrong stuff - which makes it more dangerous and more available to everyone with bad (or good) intentions
