The thing about AI is that it steals other people's works. Artists provide the entire backbone of how AI images work. But they don't get the compensation.
This most likely wouldn't have been an issue if
1. The creators of said AI had to ask for permission to be able to use the art.
and
2. If they get permission they should pay those artists.
It's not about it "looking like my art style" because it quite literally is. You are making a machine that needs artists but gives no benefits to the ones it takes from.
You talk about the talented but you can be too. Take five minutes a day to draw, you won't be good at it, no. No one actually starts drawing well.
The purpose of AI is to make things easier, however before we let AI do actual work which it's meant to do, we're having it do art instead.
Have it be an accountant not an artist. You know?
Because if we're having AI do a hobby, then by this point we're working for it instead.
