That said, I am an SF fan, and while I don't believe AI created by humanity will be godlike I do not discount the possibility of Artificial sentients. I just very much doubt that LLMs is the road that leads there.
My guess is it will involve biomechanoid brains that are part quantum computers and part cloned brain tissue. And any artificial sentient will most likely be as flawed and prone to psychological issues as any other sentient, regardless of what it runs on.
