@XTE_13 The thing with AI art that is causing many people to challenge its legality is that the way it’s trained and the image sets many genAI programs are based on. Most (I can’t say anything about all, I’m not some all-knowing deity) are based on art that people have uploaded, without their knowledge or consent. Plagiarism is nothing new, but its dishonesty (especially if done without being explicit) inherently devalues the art created through it. AI is not only plagiarizing the art it’s trained on (without consent, mind you), but many users of AI generation programs claim it to be their own art, which is disingenuous and misleading. Also, new technology like photography and digital art, while there were worries with potential to replace preexisting artists, did not inherently replace them, due to the fact they they had ingrained limitations that prevented them from being able to perfectly recreate other forms of art. AI, if/when it may be perfected, would be entirely indistinguishable, permanently devaluing art. In case my stance is not clear due to trying to remain as objective in my statements as possible, I am against AI image generation being used as a tool to replace the process of art.
