Just an FYI. Geoffrey Hinton still holds all his stock options in Google and such and doesn't plan on liquidating them nor has he made any statements on doing anything altruistic with the gains to fight against AI, so make of that what you will. It's likely his fear is based around autonomous weapon systems as he's made several statements to that affect and even talked about being on some defense mailing list where they were discussing 'healing' landmine applications which he found disturbing. Still, he plans on reaping the profits of these systems as these corporations initiate this new age of AI. So I'm taking his statements with a grain of salt until he backs up his fear mongering with actual actionable stances besides retiring...I mean resigning...at the young and youthful age of 75.
