...has some pretty solid - and potentially quite prescient/valuable - takes on the (socio)economic implications of current 'AI'. As far as the topic at hand is concerned, i.e. potential X-risks from AGI/ASI, he has absolutely nothing to add and seems woefullly inadequate to the conversation. He's in good company though: There are plenty of otherwise somewhat (or even highly) intelligent, if intellectually confined, folks who do not realize that the 'straight extrapolation' people like Yudkowsky, Hinton, Bostrom et al. talk of is neither based nor contingent upon whatever the commercial/scientific paradigm of the day (or the general state of human knowledge for that matter) turns out be.
