@KwehShiroI said have been. The current path we are on have led me to adopt new ideas. This isn’t about left versus right. It’s about keeping things running. It’s about a struggle to keep what’s left of the American dream alive. While AI can improve efficiency, the question is at what cost? We are not slaves to the machines of a small class of oligarchs. Keeping folks employed in lieu of machines carries a much lower social cost than allowing the oligarchs to decimate labor. And don’t forget the social and environmental costs of keeping these monster data centers running. View the movie The Fifth Element to get a taste of the future that many propose. Reality is that many MAGA folks voted for trump for reasons cited by Bernie prior to the election. I can understand their views.
But if we cannot achieve a balanced middle class that shares in the wealth during this period of AI, there will be serious hell to pay. The future lies in conservative, pragmatic progressives centrally based.
