At the end of the day, there's little difference to me if a human took great junks of another person's writing or an AI. It's both for the sake of money, clicks, maybe the human has a bit more questionable pride and hunger for fame in it.
Both neither honour nor mention their sources of the big junks of other people's writing they've used.
It's okay if you don't agree with me. Please keep in mind that I'm talking about copy-cats specifically. The ones that mainly get started if they can have their self-inserts and if it's about something they want to experience more intensely through writing. Or to write to market and make money.
Of course, people who grow when they read and who try to find their own voice, their own themes and stories are different to me. People who don't just steal, but transform, who create something "new" with the things that influenced them, mixed with their own ideas and inner pictures. And I think it's very decent to mention the bigger influences on one's story, if there were any, because artists and writers need exposure.
