@DanknDerpyGamer So an algorithm creates something based on a prompt, without any knowledge of art (composition, colour theory, lighting, etc.). These images are not created with intent, because the machine has not a capacity to understand what it's doing. Same with higher developed artificial intelligence, AI only mimicks and fakes what it knows, it appears like that to the outside, but it doesn't have any self-consciousness. (see Turing Test) A human operating that algorithm would have to fine-tune the result to compensate for the machine's incapability to think, reflect, transform and transcend its knowledge, the incapability to be creative. But there would need to be better ways to input things like "this belongs there instead", right now it's more aimless and the results more random than anything. It takes a long time to create what you desire. In the end, it's just another tool, not a good one at that, the AI doesn't create art on its own, just like digital programs don't create anything. "art made by stable diffusion" would be like saying "art made by Photoshop". And although it seems that way, there's still no shortcut to art, but some people see it as such, bringing arguments such as "making art accessible" while it's just been... there the whole time, with tons of free resources. There's a misunderstanding about what art is supposed to be, and so, in regurgitating what it's been fed, the result of a AI generator cannot be called "art" imho.
