I think that's a silly comparison. An atomic bomb has zero beneficial uses, outside of destroying an enemy, or indirectly contributing to the use of nuclear generated power.
AI has risks, sure, but it's benefits are likely to far outweigh such risks. AI could change things for the better, so greatly, that looking back it will seem morally unjustifiable how long it took us.
