The last hospital I worked at had AI and its function was to review patient’s charts as they came in to the hospital attempting to tell us if the patient should be in observation or an inpatient. Numerous times I had to disagree with the AI findings and would end up discussing my findings with the AI company’s Medical Doctor and actually educating the person on Medicare’s 2 Midnight Rule among other things. 😬😏
