Thats a great point but let me rebuke with a simple line;
We made airplanes, by copying how birds fly.
We dont have any examples of something gestalt, so if we ever create an AI, it will be a 1 body 1 mind situation, because thats the only way we know a mind can exist.
However, this AI could have the ability to exert its control over other empty vessels. That would be an interesting thing to talk about.
