I am a researcher applying machine learning myself
And I was kept thinking: how could her “Regulatory Sandbox” making sure unbiasedness when they are using the same data? Ok, the only way to do this is just they are predicting better than the original technology (and they claim to apply it anywhere - so that it means they can do better than any technology in any scenario). Well…
But even above is true, then they are just making sure the result is less biased - perfectly unbiased is not even possible.
The issue is really about whether the programmer and the firm are biased, and wether the data SAMPLE is biased, even whether our reality is wrong (and thr structural bias should be categorized into two part: it is natural or it is artificial),
not the tech itself.
