@btaleonard02wrong I’m an accountant with 7 years of experience while outsourcing (ie India) is an issue it only applies to low level accounting positions like AR/AP and bookkeeping which we don’t even consider accounting. As far as AI goes, it’s highly unlikely AI will replace Accountants, my job specifically requires a lot of Human judgement. Something that AI can’t substitute, people think accountants just look at numbers and spreadsheets all day and that couldn’t be further from the truth. My job is a combination of consulting with clients, collaborating with Project managers, and doing nitty gritty accounting things like forecasting, reconciliations, journal entries, month end etc. AI will definitely probably be able to do the low level accounting stuff like creating and sending out invoices and processing invoices. But never the higher level accounting analysis and consulting functions of the job.
