This stems from complete ignorance for what tools exist. Midjourney is an amazing tool for idea exploration. They have a system that will learn your tastes, and you can go through the process of seeing thousands of examples to develop it. By the end, you'll have exposure to a far greater breadth of art than you'd get from any art class, and your taste vector will steer the model to parts of the generation space which are quite unlike existing art. I was going to post the name of a good twitter user who documents this sort of thing, but every example of a good AI artist is auto-filtered in this comments section, but it's not hard to find.
