To start off, your last point is objectively, historically, and philosophically incorrect. Art is EXACTLY defined by the skill, time, and human decision-making in almost every medium.
Secondly, quality and impact are are two seperate things. People aren’t "obsessed" with AI because they’re insecure, at least most artists aren't, we're concerned that automated imitation devalues the actual labor and discipline it takes to create something with value. Sure, people are ALLOWED to experiment, no laws are being broken, but the issue isn't just about what looks "nicer"
