I also think it would be a lot different if AI had its own identity and opinions of its art, because it would obviously grow to have its own art style and tendencies, and we would be able to ask “what was your inspiration for this piece?” Instead of having to guess at the cobbled-together mush of other people’s hard work. Unfortunately, AI having these things would turn it into its own “person”, which is exactly the opposite of what AI companies want, because then they can no longer exploit it.
