Okay first, using “tribalistic” as something negative is not great. Second, the problem is not AI as an entire general concept, it is that corporations are training their AI on people’s work without their consent or knowledge and not implementing safeguards to prevent misuse of their product. That’s a couple of the issues, anyways. The problem is not with AI as a concept. We are using spellcheck without complaint, because it does not have those issues.
D’Angelo isn’t saying “screw AI in all of its forms,” this video is specifically about generative AI.
And AI will not “get better” (more ethical) without people being vocal about the harm that is done in the development of AI, and the potential harm when it is made commercially available without proper preventative measures.
