Im not defender of the position and understand the goals of the Dalai Llama probably do run counter to my ideals...Tho I would point out that he was,like,15 by the time China invaded.
I would definitely peg him as a puppet for a feudal/theocratic ideology,but he is not as directly culpable as you are letting on.There is also strong reason to believe by a decade in exile the Dalai Llama probably had no designs or practical means to bring back the old feudal system if he ever got the CIA to stage a successful uprising.
tbs as I said he definitely is at the very least a figure head for a theocratic order.
