Nope. AI isn't suddenly something new. Algorithms are fragmented AI. Back in the Eighties, as the AI boom was starting, AI researchers suddenly hit "pause", conceding "We don't really understand the real thing!" In the Eighties, even supercomputers were primitive in modern terms, so AI efforts were a lot of work and weren't readily blowing open many doors. With today's IT achievements and advanced server farms, time invested is much less and returns are vastly more justifying. Currently, AI is just another next-level tool, like transistor circuitry after vacuum tubes, like electronic calculators after slide rules, like digital databases after physical libraries, like PCs and word processors which displaced secretarial pools and more. Until AI matures to become self-regenerative, it's just another tool, which has no intrinsic virtue, but acquires significance by its deployment.
