@dabordietrying lmao they really didn't realise that for the AI to replicate someone, that person would still have to make it in the first place right? This is what I'm mostly worried about. What are AIs going to take inspiration from in order to keep trends evolving? We're trying to create a system that promises some sort of ultimate inspiration, but it can only give us that based on input that we give it, but now it's "going to replace artists", so does that mean that in ten years, after artists no longer create original work, we're still stuck with the same old data set? Human art evolves and changes a lot based on our common cultural heritage. AI art does not, and I'm pretty sure that if we feed the generated output back into the machine learning algorithm it's not gonna evolve at all, probably just collapse and devolve into meaninglessness. So either artists' calling will become creating art that feeds into algorithms, or this model of generative art has no future at all. It's fun for now but until it can come up with _actual_ new stuff, it's just a temporary trend.
