@avengermkii7872 I get the criticism, but calling Tesla drivers “unpaid experiments” isn’t really accurate. People who bought FSD Supervised chose to do so, and many are actually happy to test it and contribute to improving the system. Tesla’s communication could definitely have been better, but it is clearly stated that the system is not fully autonomous and that the driver must remain attentive at all times.
Waymo and Tesla also have fundamentally different goals. Tesla is aiming for a system that can scale to millions of consumer cars, anywhere, without pre-mapped roads. Waymo, on the other hand, is focused on a robotaxi business model that relies heavily on detailed geofencing and mapping, which makes it far less scalable. Both approaches have merits, but they’re solving very different problems.
