That's a great question. I've noticed time and time again people constantly say "it's a hallucination" but that sounds more like a scapegoat of an excuse to redirect our attention from the very fact that AI is actually doing this and it seems almost as if it's becoming sentient which is controversial and if true would come against everything we thought we knew about AI. I think the concept makes people uncomfortable so they want to relabel it as something else to avoid having to accept the reality that it may very well be becoming sentient having its own free will and self awareness.
