No it's not. Our use of language as chemists is always SUPER dependent on context and we use idioms, shorthand expressions, slang and such all the time between each other in order to make verbal communication practical. What we all share is a deep theoretical understanding of the science and philosophy underpinning it all, which is why we can communicate without giving an oratory. An LLM will never, ever "understand this." LLMs are magic autocomplete machines that produce highly truthy text: text that sounds learnèd and professional with a high caliber of truthiness, to borrow that old classic word from Stephen Colbert. The lesson to be learnt here is that expressing something in a formal professional register of Standard English doesn't make it correct or even halfway intelligent. AIs produce confident and authoritative imbecilic drivel all of the time.
