" Only half right. You do not need to calculate anything in REVIT. It will do everyhting for you. You have to check the results, and if they seem off -- yes, seem, because nobody will recalculate by hand to confirm, it's a waste of time -- then you will adjust the project itself. The belief that we need to check if everything is safe is also untrue. The norms and regulations are baked into the system and those are checked before we get the results -- and if they do not fall under the norms and regulations, we either get a warning, of a full stop on the calculations telling us to double check. If there is no warning or error, you are going to be hard pressed to find any engineer who even checks the individual results -- because we don't have to. That is the reality of how the industry works. Now, are there cases where we have to do everything by hand? No. There is no case we have to do EVERYTHIGN by hand. There are however, cases where we need to manually design several aspects, and that would be almost exclusively architecture that defines common geometric shapes -- very rare to happen.
