@aesopsock7447There is great potential for computation to help humanity, it can do some things we can't and could be put to use in niche ways to our benefit. I agree though about having concern regarding how it seems to actually be being put to use thus far. We need significant legislation in place like, yesterday, to restrict its applications because under capitalism we know what will happen and is already happening.. in particular, one of the greatest concerns I have is anybody and everybody being replaced in the workforce (except for C-Suite executives of course, because they are the people that push the use of AI and resultant layoffs, even though their jobs would be among the easiest to replace with AI and firing themselves would be the biggest way to reduce costs).
