On top of an image is like a 1% transparent layer that looks a little like an oil film that is generated based on the content in the picture. I think it also uses a neural net for that. It cause, during the training of an AI image model, to map the properties of a pattern to the wrong text encoding, so it's more likely a user gets dog propertie when they type "cat" when an image is generated for instance. I think there are also other ways it messes with the output quality.
