@headphonesaxolotl Well, many of the largest companies today were started by people who were just average people who worked hard. Granted it's not just about hard work that leads to success, there's other factors to it but to say that people cannot improve at something no matter how hard they work at it just goes against most every scientific study ever taken.
It'd be the same as saying you can't learn a new language or can't get better at school no matter how hard you try. The amount of people that'd be true for are in such a low portion of the population that you'd find more people gifted with talent than those utterly devoid of any ability to improve. So yes, anyone can get better at art by working at it. I've seen people go from stick figures to drawing actual comics and sh*t. Having innate talent is only ever a head start, nothing more.
And I say that as someone who has talent and won awards back in school for my art. I however did not draw all the time and so nowadays my art would be more on the just ok side of things in my opinion. Except for maybe my landscape art, and dragons, as I did still do those a bit more often. But ask me to draw a person's face, nope that's not gonna look quite right. And that is due to a lack of practice, a lack of experience.
If you can't draw, and need to resort to using AI and then selling your AI art, taking away from those who spend hours drawing, no, you are not trying hard enough, you are simply robbing the people who did put in the effort to try and get good. And it infuriates me to know that there are artists who would be able to get more attention on their art, if not for all the AI art plaguing the internet now. AI has gotten so prolific it's mimicking people's voices and taking away from voice actors, it's being used for some animations, robbing animators, it's making fakes of things which I see people take as reality and then go and attack certain content creators for it. And that's to say nothing of the people that just repost shorts that belong to other content creators.
If you want to use AI art as a shortcut to assist you, that's fine, so long as the end result is mostly your own effort. But don't tell me people can't improve if they try hard. I was gifted with artistic talent, my sister wasn't, but she kept drawing to get better. Now being the older brother I still pick on her art, even if it is a lot better now, but I'm supposed to do that as a sibling so eh...
