I've read elsewhere that AI is being used by CEOs to dampen expectations of job growth as a means to increase shareholder value, since having flat job/flat wage numbers support better earnings. The other news is that companies are holding off on hiring due to the instability caused by the current Administration's lack of /inconsistent long term strategies. Some companies are simply holding off from CapEx spending, due to tariffs, the war. Scott uses a couple of high level data points due to the fact that these are 1 hour podcasts. There isn't enough air time to cover each and every cause /effect currently dampening corporate job growth. For that type of analysis, suggest listening to economic podcasts elsewhere.
