@TheAIRiskNetwork I disagree, stating it clearly like that is important imo. Like, how will AI extinction seem like anything but a thought experiment about the future if we go "this has a high likelihood of killing all of us" and then pretend like taking down the data centers is a crazy idea... A radical, but not inherently unreasonable idea for the future would be to do what Mossad has been doing to Iranian nuclear scientists, an AI is a lot more dangerous than an Iranian nuke... We understand going to war with Daesh, even though noone believed they were an extinction risk for humanity, but now something that is infinitely more dangerous comes along, and protests are the strongest acceptable tools? I think that sends a message to normies that it isn't actually that big a risk if I'm being honest.
